In 1990 VEGE took an aggressive stance in the battle against pollution. We studied and assessed all aspects of the remanufacturing process. A careful record was made, logging all the chemical residue and material wastes and a study into the logistics of their disposal was made.
As a direct consequence of our findings, many changes have been implemented, the most recent of which is the purchase of a thermal cleansing oven. The oven, which was installed in 1995, totally eliminates the use of chemicals in the initial cleansing process and represents a great step forward.
VEGE strives to reduce cost in its packaging by making sure all engines leave the factory in reusable frames. These frames not only protect the engines during delivery but serve to handle the transportation of the old core back to be recycled.
The remaufacturing process which we began in 1936 is a total recycling system. The process saves vast amounts of energy and raw materials as we reuse products that otherwise would cause environmental problems if disposed of in the traditional manner.
Since 1984, VEGE has been adapting all engines and cylinder heads to run on unleaded fuel which reduces harmful emission and helps preserve the earth.
